Matthew Perrin began his extensive career in 2003 in this hometown of Griffith, NSW, 2680.

In 2004, Matthew moved to Melbourne to complete his trade, working at Millennium — a high-profile salon in the heart of the CBD. There, his skills consolidated as he gained accolades and immersed himself in cutting-edge seminars and workshops that shaped his craft.

In 2008, inspired by a client, he made the move to Cairns, discovering his enduring love for the far north and its people.

By 2010, Matthew was ready for the global stage. He moved to London and landed his dream role with Charles Worthington in Covent Garden, one of the UK’s leading salons. As a member of the CW Artistic Team, Matthew worked backstage at high-profile events such as London Fashion Week and the BAFTAs, while continuing to grow his impressive skill set through elite training.

Returning to Australia in 2012, Matthew made Cairns his permanent home. He began sharing his expertise as a contracted educator with CQU, training the next generation of hairdressers in Certificate III in Hairdressing. Simultaneously, he stayed connected to his creative roots by continuing to work with clients on the salon floor.

in 2018, Matthew launched The Hair Lounge by Matthew Perrin, bringing his signature style and premium service to Cairns.

Now, in 2025, a bold new chapter begins.
